The Drone Survey Process
Using our state-of-the-art drones equipped with high-definition cameras and LiDAR technology, we were able to survey the required building and infrastructure efficiently. Our team mapped out key areas of interest, providing Taunton School with detailed aerial views and more importantly the ability to examine their own site in a 3D ‘digital twin’ and make their own measurements i.e. lengths, heights, widths, surface area, cut and fill volumes. Traditional surveying methods would have taken far longer to achieve and would not have been able to capture the full details of those areas with no access.
The benefit of using drones was twofold: we were able to cover large areas quickly while delivering precise data that allowed for better decision-making throughout the renovation project. Moreover, our non-invasive methods ensured that school activities remained uninterrupted, and health and safety was maintained throughout the process.
Results & Conclusion
